Janey Mac loves her new home

Hi everyone, very long time since I posted and am trying to catch up.  I have been busy with coats and all sorts of things.  I had many coats made for all the trade shows a couple of years ago and therefore a good inventory.  A quarter of it is left and coat by coat another happy canine.

Janey Mac herself is well along with her canine and feline buddies.  She still loves to steal food whenever she can including earlier tonight when she ran off with a pop tart.  I am looking forward to receiving more pictures in the thank you gallery - including an adorable Dachshund in my black and tartan winter cape, a Leonberger rain coat for Christmas, an adorable Yorkie and her fancy white denim, a Maltese Yorkie mix with a wardrobe of coats, and a Tibetan terrier cross with a couple of coats, soon one toy poodle and another toy cross.  Phew, when you list them it's quite the assortment.

thanks for sharing your picture with us

If you would like a special coat for your friend and companion  - just let me know and we'll take it from there.

are you going to finish that ... are you sure ... it looks good ... I hear the phone ringing ...

Janey Mac has moved east

Hi everyone, just a quick note to say that we had quite a rough year but we have finally moved east into Durham Region/Clarington County.   The dogs are much happier with their huge back yard.

Now that the colder weather is upon us I have been busy and will be making new coats again this season.  Please check out Global Pet Foods in Bowmanville.  They have some of the Janey Mac Attire coats on display and the team is fantastic and helpful.  Also check out the Uptown Gallery's beautiful display windows along King St. in downtown Bowmanville and you may notice some very pretty coats! Yes two of my personal favourites are part of their festive display for the holidays.

For the fastest way to view some of the special coats that have been sold go down to the bottom of the Thank You Gallery - first postings from 2009.

Update and hello

Hi to everyone - it's been a long time since I've sat down to update my blog.  We've had a rough summer-fall this year.  My mother who is 80 years old has Alzeihmer's and lives with us.  To say that it's been awful is an understatement.  I have not been able to devote any time towards the coats and now it's my busy season and I've turned down so many requests and feel terrible about it.  I just don't have time towards anything these days but I do have a good inventory of coats left so hopefully some of them will find the right dog and the right fit!  Janey Mac and Uly are both doing fine and they are wonderful and our helping me cope daily.  I'm also a dog walker - sitter and have been very busy with that part of the job and have more dogs to happily look after on a daily basis.  Too bad I can't cloth them at the same time but that will have to wait for now.  I was able to find a couple of coats for my new buddy that I look after daily called Felix.  He's an adorable little white and cream coloured Havanese.  My lab buddy and a few more bigger dogs will have to wait but thankfully I do have a good supply of big dog coats.  The only good news that I have to share with everyone is that Janey Mac and Ulysses have 3 feline buddies to spend their days with.  Three male cats adopted from the Humane Society called Edward, Percy and Bubba Louis.  The fit was so perfect it was a relief to have something fun in this time of turmoil for our family and the children love the cats who spend a great deal of time sleeping in their rooms and playing with them.  Laser mouse tag and feathers on a fishing pole our good stress busters for everyone.  Animals are amazing in the love they give to their families.

Take care and I hope to be able to put coats back on the blog and for my furry friends!!

Woofstock 2010 - Janey Mac and Ulysses worked very hard and pleased the crowds!

Hi everyone - we are exhausted but had an amazing time at Woofstock.  The weather was dodgy Saturday but not as bad as expected and Sunday was amazing.  Janey Mac worked so hard Saturday all day with us and she participated in the Fashion Show.  What an amazing hound.  Mr. Ulys took over Sunday so that Janey could recoup and he just wowed the crowds.  He had them smiling and really showed his sweet and gentle nature to everyone that wanted to say hello.  He also enjoyed the steak sandwich for lunch.  Not to be outdone by Janey he participated in the fashion show on Sunday in his Ultimate Canine rain slicker.  What a trouper.

I especially want to thank Rochelle for helping us out again on Saturday and for Roxy and Bella with owners Liz and Jason who drove down 2 days in a row from St. Catharines to participate in the fashion show.  Check out those cool Beagle pictures.  Our contingency of Beagles is getting so popular we will have to create a special section just for them.  Marla with Beagle Rescue is an amazing woman helping out any Beagle in need and we look forward to some cool photos from her out at Howling Heights.  We also look forward to photos from anyone who purchased a Janey Mac coat.

It was so much fun to see Bergen (male Irish Wolfhound) and meet Rumour and Arwen (female Irish wolfhounds) and of course Kathi and Dwayne York who we have a special connection with since our little Janey was born in their home and raised by them so lovingly.  She was then known as Xola and now is our Janey.  Kathi I look forward to seeing pictures since I couldn't leave the booth and of course the new beautiful pup to arrive in August.  There was Boudica the female Irish Wolfhound and Jake a male Leonberger.  Bergen won Mr. Canine Canada on Saturday.

Well as we get more pictures I will update this section so for now enjoy.  The funniest moments with the dogs was hat they would lie down across the road so that you had to stop and meet them (they didn't mind the hundreds of people) having to go around them as you can see everytime there was a lull in the crowds, both Janey Mac and Uly would take up the street.  LOL

Events - Woofstock Festival (June 12 & 13, 2010) - Toronto

Hi everyone - oh we are feeling the excitement and stress leading up to this weekend's Woofstock Festival.  Janey Mac is having a ball getting ready.  She had so much fun competing in this Sunday's Doggie Celebrity Look-Alike Contest, High Tea at the King Edward Hotel.  She was dressed up as the Avatar Princess from the movie, played by Zoe Saldana.  She placed in second - Elvis the King came in first place.  We are very proud of Janey.  It's all about having fun and look at that smile.

We look forward to Woofstock this weekend.  Janey will be participating in the Fashion Show and wearing her bright rainforest jacket.

Janey Mac Friends (Businesses and Events)

This section is to say thank you to all the businesses and events we have participated in.  Janey Mac Attire would like to say a big huge THANK YOU for all the ongoing support from:

Ryan's/Global Pet Food Store at corner of Burnhamthorpe and Creditview Rds here in Mississauga.  They have watched me grow into a business and supported my ventures.  They are the contributors of all those goodies that I have at the booth as well as their patrons have had a custom coat created for their special pet by Janey Mac Attire.  You guys are what I think of as proudly Canadian and downright neighbourly!!!  They are more like family than a store.  It's always a social visit whether we are shopping or not and both Uly and Janey LOVE THEM ALL!

Lori Dzingala at Heronview Farms.  What can I say about Lori except that she is downright loveable and funny and if you don't fall in love with all her wonderful Leonbergers and her farm animals then what are you doing there.  LOL.  We visit Lori often to fill up our freezers full of meat for both our wolfie Janey Mac and our Leo, Uly.  They go nuts for the delicious frozen ofal cubes and dehydrated windpipes.  Check out Heronview Farms in Brooklin, Ontario (Ashburn Road) and also Lori's website.  She carries beautiful clothing spun from Alpaca fur.  She also keeps some Janey Mac Attire coats on hand and has supported me from the start.  You can check out Lori's booth usually at Barkham in Markham this month or up in Port Perry, Dog Daze of Summer, Lake Scucog area this July.  Her adorable Leos have won prestigious awards at dog shows and Kramer and the girls would love to meet you.

Donna Hughes at Designer Dog Pet Spa - Newmarket, ON.  Donna and I met during the All About Pet Show and we participated in the M&M Meats Charity Drive (CCFC) recently.  Donna has special Janey Mac Designer Dog Spa (towel coats) for her patrons as well as sporting some cool bandanas and coats in her shop.  If you are out in Newmarket drop in and say hello to Donna.  Your dog will love all the pampering and love it receives.  Donna thank you for your enthusiam, support and you are truly a happy, caring individual that I look forward to meeting up with.

Leonberger Club of Ontario - yes folks there are some safe Leos out there with their reflective coats from Janey Mac Attire.  There are no dogs too furry or big for us to find something to make sure that they are not mistaken for bears!  Honourable mention that this also works with Great Pyranees.  Check out Wizard and his Leo-sized rain slicker.  Lois and Sandra of the Great Pyr Club.  Check out Zoe, Elvis, LuLu and of course Uly in their triple XXX "OMG I need sunglasses" reflective coats.

Mary and Ann of Kazooticals - Ladies you are generous, kind and I look forward to seeing you both at many dog events in the future.  I appreciate all the knowledge and help you have given me.  People go check out Kazooticals either at upcoming events like Woofstock or their website and say hello to Mary and Ann.  I think that you will definitely like Kazooticals!

Janey Mac and I look forward to adding more friends and events to this chapter.  We are very grateful for the love and support that both our dogs and us have from their breeders and kennels (Susan of Glenammada and Naomi of Lewenhart) - you ladies are amazing!

Looking forward to making some new friends at Woofstock this month.

Janey Mac Attire at Slobberfest Festival, May 29, 2010

Hi everyone!  Well we just finished having a great time down at the Boardwalk (Beaches) area participating in Slobberfest 2010.  You couldn't ask for more amazing summer weather and looking out at blue skies and water all day .... well ... great way to spend the day meeting wonderful dogs and their owners.  We got to see our glamour girls the wonderful Beagles, Roxy and Bella who won just about every contest they entired because they are born stars!!  I also made the sweetest friend, a little Chihuahua rescue called Charles William.  We took a shine to one another and the little demo coat I had made for my cardboard Chihuahua fit him perfectly.  I guess the coat was just waiting for us to meet.  Here are some pictures from the Festival and we are busy gearing up for Woofstock 2010.  Down in the distillery area - St. Lawrence Market, Toronto (Saturday and Sunday, June 12-13).  Please come down and drop in to say hi to us and enjoy this amazing event for all dog lovers.
