Information on cost, pricing, materials, etc.

Janey Mac, how much is that. She has a great name for rhymes and they just keep popping into my head like a song.

I try to be inventive and keep my costs low. Once in a while I'll see an amazing fabric and splurge but most of the time I'm frugal. I try to recycle where I can by using clothing and fabric or materials people are giving away, donating or sales. The lettering and artwork I do myself and look for sales. Items like decals, iron-ons and buttons, ribbons, trimwork and bling is fun and I try to find the most affordable adornments. Certain items like reflective ribbon and trim is costly and stitching lettering and symbols is a labour of love because it's very time consuming. I use fabric glue before I stick the item for added durability.

Velcro is easy, affordable and durable. Waterproof material is great but costs more and isn't always user friendly. I buy yarn when it's a good deal and I crotchet trimwork, hoods and collars.

On average, most of the time the coats pricing will run from $10.00 to $60.00.

Most of the smaller coats do not exceed $30.00 unless they have some serious bling and expensive fabric. Medium to large coats are usually priced around $20-$40.00 Extra large coats, speciality coats etc. will run between $40-$60.00. It's very difficult to always charge a specific amount for a particular size when each coat is an original piece and unique from the others. Like apples to oranges, each one is my wearable work of art so I carefully keep track of what the coat cost to make and include my labour. I have made custom coats for individual dogs and I try to make as many sizes as possible to accommodate the short and tall, the stocky or long. Like us dogs come in many sizes even within a breed. If you are interested in a special coat for your canine companion, send me an email. My email address is papantz@rogers.com and send me a picture of the dog. I will let you know what measurements are needed or you can browse through some available coats. I try to have available several coats in different sizes for shows, events and stores.

I recommend that the coat be washed by hand and lay out flat to dry.
